So it seems that audience response systems work and can be found in classrooms with increasing regularity. As mentioned in an earlier post cost may be prohibitive in some applications. Cost effectiveness and simplicity are very important to me. So for me to use this technology I would need for it to not necessitate me to buy any new gadget and the service would need to be cheap. I think I have found a service that satisfies these two qualifiers for my adoption of the technology.

Poll Everywhere utilizes the web to collect data through text messages and post them live. This method takes advantage of the almost ubiquitous ownership of cell phones, no need to buy any

At least this option would allow an organization to try audience response methods without a large investment.

Well, the concept of Poll Everywhere is quite good. Text message is a great way to vote and has already been applied for polling for many TV programs. I like the customizing features of Poll Everywhere. I don't mind spend money, I just don't want to spend money for some service I don't even use. Hey, have you checked the Comment from ARS? I wonder how they found your blog and how much is their product.
This is interesting... it appears that ARS found your blog, and has links to it's vendors, as well as ads. I searched the ARS site, and found 10 different vendors world-wide, and that's just one company (the one our college purchased, Turning Technologies, is one of them, and not rated very highly... oh oh). I did not find any price quotes for hardware or software, though most vendors have a lease program, which indicates they could be expensive to purchase outright.
This give more credence to the Poll Everywhere system. I like the idea of no new gadgets, and making the gadgets we already have, like cell phones, work for us in a new collaborative way.
I've tried to search in the Internet and didn't found ARS plans/ price. However, the Poll Everywhere sounds a good deal. What I like the most is its primary feature; it allows you to use your own devices (cellphone) to operate the software.
Because I never use or been in the situation where I have to poll using a device, therefore I can only understand the benefits from other's information (or readings). I really wish I can have first-hand experience with these technologies.
