I'm just wondering. What if there is out-of-nowhere author whose name or works are never being heard before, and which its credibility is still being questioned, want to add his/her books in Google Books. Will it be evaluated first?

Do you mean like an unpublished author getting published through this service? I'm not sure if they do that yet. That would kind of be like what pandora.com does for music. I'm sure they could do that and create revenue by charging authors a fee. It would also may boost/create sales for those authors that currently do not have their work out there.

I watched the video, and close to the end, there is one author says that on-line rating and comment system will help publisher to sell more books. It is surely the truth for music and retail industry, however, for books I have my reservation. Unlike a music fan or a critical buyer, It takes weeks or even months to finish reading a book, I don't think the rating system will work the same way.

However, there will be a fundamental change in the book publishing industry. The question is when and how the change will occur.
